The Building

So the reason that we are in Georgia for the month of December is the obvious, Christmas, but also Toby's dad is building an "out building" or what we call a huge garage. Toby got sick 2 days after we got here with something that really messed him up. He had a really high fever of 103-104 and was coughing non stop. So we lost about 1 1/2 weeks of building time. When he finally got better enough to work we got started
We had to cut down a bunch of branches because the building was going to be REALLY tall.
Toby's best friend Keith is such a nice guy and came to work when ever he could, and it wasn't like it was light work. I don't think we could have done this job with out him. Thanks Keith.
The mud/clay here is so heavy and we had to fill in a big chunk of land before we could build anything. Also we had the weather against us. It rains like every other day.
We decided that we were just going to have to build in some rain and luckily we picked a warm rain day.
The walls are REALLY heavy. So the wonderful missionaries came to help. We were able to get all 4 walls up on the same day. So while we were building the other 2 walls they helped move more dirt/clay.
It was fun building. Toby and I worked together on a project with my dad and brother-in-law, so I have a little framing experience. It was fun though working with Toby.
I hope you can see how big this thing is. It it 20X32 and the walls are 10 feet tall. Oh yeah that there is also a bonus room on top.
The missionaries came back again to help us put the trusses on. I have never seen trusses put up by hand before. It was...interesting but they did a great job. There is a lot more done on the building now I will just have to go get some more pictures. But it is looking good.
Just to show how spoiled Sadie is here. Big dogs are not allowed in the house (but apparently Sadie is the exception) Doug sure loves her. She will sometimes sleep in his room with him. If she sleeps in out room and hears that he is up in the morning she will sit at our door and whine until we let her out to go be with him. What a life this dog has.

Raelin and Ryker 4 wheeling with Granddad

My dad went down to Springville to take Raelin and Ryker on their first ride on his new 4 wheeler
Both kids LOVE riding on these things.
Ryker is so funny about 4 wheelers. If you call it an ATV he will quickly correct you by saying "you mean the 4 wheeler" I think at one time he would correct you the other way too.
The view from some of these trails are just amazing!!
My cute mom packed a little snack for the kids for my dad to take. She is that best.
The report was that the trip was a bit to long and the kids were getting tired but I think they still had a great time and I think they will tell you they "had so much fun with granddad"! What a great place we live where we can be so close to the mountains where there is so much to do!!

Raelin's 6th Birthday

Toby and I were in California for Raelin's actual birthday but we were back in time for her party with all her friends. Morgan's camera died so she asked me to take the picture and I figured that I would post about the birthday and then she can post when I give her the pictures too.
Morgan made the piñata and she was so proud of the thing.
The poor kids in the freezing wind.
She is so cute
Morgan thought that he home made piñata would not last long but we were out there for quite a while.
Once everyone got a turn Morgan let the kids go through again without the blind fold.
FINALLY!!!
Present time.
Morgan couldn't keep the kids back if she had a bat.
Raelin's birthday cake was a BIG cupcake while everyone got regular cupcakes.
Morgan did a great job with all the fun things planned. They did limbo and decorated cookies and played some other fun birthday games. I just can't believe that this little girl is 6. Where does the time go? Good party Morgan

THE Funniest thing I have ever seem.

We are in Georgia for the whole month of December and the second day we got here Toby got REALLY sick. So he did not keep up on his shaving. When he started feeling better enough to shave it he left this thing on his lip. It very well could be the funniest thing I have ever seen.
I couldn't even eat lunch because I was laughing so hard with him sitting across from me with that thing on his face. So I got a couple of pictures before he ran up to shave it.
He thinks he is so sexy!!

FINALLY California!!

It has been about 4 years since I have been back to Southern California and I finally got a couple of days. We spend a day with my friend Darlene. We went to the flea market and we got some fun stuff. We had such a great time with her.
We stayed with my grandma in Thousand Oaks and the first day we went down to the Santa Monica Pier. It was a bit cold but not to bad. I really enjoyed being at the beach and just taking our time.
It was really bright and this is the best picture we got of me not squinting to much.
After a couple of days out there we went to Lake Arrowhead and stayed with Kari and Glen and their very cute girls. We had so much fun just chatting and going to dinner. On Sunday we got to go to church and we got to visit with a lot of friends there. It was such a great trip and I wish it was longer, but I will take what I can get.

How I told Toby

After Toby and I decided to expand out family it didn't take long until I got pregnant. It happened so fast that Toby had no idea. So this is how I decided to tell him.
It says "your gonna be a dad!" It took him a while to get it. He didn't understand that the shirt was for him (I'm not quite sure who he thought the shirt would be for). But when he figured it out he was happy.

One of the best hugs in my whole life.

It really did take him a while for it to sink in that he was going to be a dad.

5 months later and it is still a little hard to believe. But we are so excited to be welcoming out baby boy in April. (but his name it going to take a while to figure out.)

Halloween

This Halloween My dad, my mom, Toby and I went up in the canyon 4 wheeling. It was my mom's first time on my dad's new 4 wheeler.

We found a really pretty trail.

My mom had a lot of fun!

While my mom, dad and I were down trick or treating with Morgan's kids Toby and Jordan carved pumpkins.

Here is Toby's and he is very proud of it.

Here is Jordan's. His looks really cool when it is lit.

My Dad's new 4 wheeler

The guy at the store is showing him all the cool stuff it has.

Getting ready for the first ride!

It is really pretty.

He had so much fun that first day and all the other days since. He ditches work to go out with Toby. They have so much fun!

My dad got these really attractive goggles from Walmart. So Dad's style.

4 Wheeler

Here are some pictures of some of out 4 wheeling adventures in American Fork Canyon after we got back from Canada. It was so much fun and Sadie had a blast. She loved to run in front of the 4 wheeler or ride on the back. It was funny to see other people's reactions when they saw her riding. So apparently dog don't ride well on 4 wheelers.
We would pack a lunch grab some books and head up the canyon and start to explore trails that we haven't been on. When we got hungry we would find a really pretty view and eat lunch and just hang out and read or whatever. It was such a great way to spend out day.
We came around the corner to find this moose staring at us. Sadie flipped out. She wanted to go play so bad that she could still bark with me holding her mouth shut. But it just crossed the path and kept going.
This is one of the great views that we were able to see on one of out trips.

Sadie would get on the back behind me while we ride when she got really tired. She usually ran most of the way and we would ride for several miles. I can't believe how fast she can run for the amount of time we would go out for. On the way home she would be passed out in the back seat but once we got home she was ready to play again.

Sadie and I at one of out picnics spots.

The view at the picnic place.

Man and his best friend.

Toby is so happy to be able to use his 4 wheeler last year I was to much of a baby to get bundled up. But we didn'g get the 4 wheeler until after Halloween so it was a but cold so you can't blame me. But we had a ton of fun this little time we had.

Going 4 wheeling was so much fun for us. The mountains are just beautiful and spending the time together with no phones, TV or computers was so nice. I wish that the warm weather would last a bit longer so we can go more while we are not working.
